Social Work Internship (Graduate Level)

The Multidisciplinary Center (MDC) currently offers a full-time field placement opportunity for graduate level clinical social work students in the Spring and Fall semesters. The internship provides direct clinical experiences at the Multidisciplinary Center and within school districts under the supervision of licensed clinical social workers on staff. At the MDC, interns receive training and direct experience conducting clinical assessments, including biopsychosocial and adaptive measures with parents and guardians as part of a child or adolescent’s diagnostic evaluation. These evaluations are completed by our staff psychologists and interns and primarily focus on assessing for Attention Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Learning Disabilities. Interns also receive training on individual and group mental health services within the clinic. This provides interns with direct experience conducting intake and risk assessments, developing treatment plans, monitoring client progress and outcomes, completing clinical documentation, and the termination process.

The Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Consulting Center is an equal opportunity university-based training program.  We welcome and strongly encourage applications from all qualified candidates. Interns are required to pass a Level II fingerprinting and background screening for this field placement; the cost of this screening is covered by the MDC. In addition, interns receive compensation subject to available funding.
