The FDLRS Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Consulting Center at the Florida State University College of Social Work (FDLRS FSU MDC), was established in 1983 through a grant through the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Educational and Student Services (BEESS). It is part of a network of six state-funded, regional FDLRS Multidisciplinary Educational Services Centers in Florida that provide a range of services including diagnostic evaluation and consultation services for children and youth identified as having complex medical, educational, emotional, and/or behavioral problems, as well as consultation, pre-service and in-service training for parents, teachers, other school and district personnel, and related providers and professionals.
The FDLRS FSU MDC serves individuals ages 3 to 22 who have not yet completed high school and who are experiencing severe and/or complex academic, medical, and/or behavioral/emotional problems. FDLRS services are available to children and their families through a referral process by twenty-two school districts in the Florida Panhandle, and other state and community agencies. All services received under the FDLRS grant are free of charge for eligible state residents and referring districts. You can learn more about FDLRS programs at https://www.fdlrs.org/about-fdlrs
